The theme for the show was to explore the idea of a “soft form urn”; and my concept was that, in practice, this urn would be made entirely of the hair of the deceased. The actual cremains are encased in a pouch made out of the favorite shirt sleeve of the theoretical deceased. In this way, the urn is made entirely of the deceased’s belongings.
The cork is a small scale bun held together with thread and secured with bobby pins, which I found amusing. “It’s your last hair do”.
It’s name is “Crown”, and I made it for my Mom.
